Entac’s products have been extensively tested
for the complete range of environmental chemicals of concern.
Metals, non-metals, and inorganic compounds have been tested for,
as have a very wide range of organic compounds, including
polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), dioxins, furans, phenols, and
polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). In addition, Open Scan GC/MS
(gas chromatography/mass spectrometry) testing was applied, to
seek out any organic compounds not covered by the scan for PCBs,
PAHs, and the other chemical groups. Almost none of these
environmental chemicals of concern were detected, and the few that
were detected (naturally occurring metals, inorganic and organic
compounds) were present at levels well below regulatory
guidelines.
In addition, the products have undergone repeated ecotoxicological
testing, where live Rainbow trout and sensitive water fleas
(Daphnia magna) were exposed to water containing the Entac
emulsions. None of the fish or daphnia died after up to four days
exposure, and no signs of distress were noted by the laboratory
staff conducting the tests. These toxicity test results - no
observed effect - on Entac’s products show the lowest possible
level of toxic effect possible. In combination with the chemical
testing, these results indicate that the Entac products are
environmentally clean and have no negative environmental impacts.
All of the chemical and toxicity testing was conducted by properly
certified and accredited laboratories, and the actual Reports of
Analysis are provided in the following section, as is a final
report from Stantec Consulting Ltd.
